Been a while since i posted. Life has been busy, work has been tough (hell, i've had to get my brain into gear before 9am every day for the past month at least). Had a breakthrough today with a particularly large and annoying website, so the pressure is off, at least for the weekend.

I'm going shopping tomorrow for a tv. Even the wife is wanting to get one, so it might just happen. Cue much fun with me playing Fenwicks off against John Lewis; asking their best price for cash and all that shit. Which will no doubt embarrass the wife, but make me want to giggle like a kid who's just set fire to the dog. Apparently it's bad form to ask loaded questions to sales staff who don't know their arse from their elbow - hey, fuck, no-one told me. Besides, if your job is to sell a 2k tv to people day in, day out, then you should know what you are talking about.

Anyway.

Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction. Best album of the 80s? Discuss. Or recommend me some new music. I've got 37GB of shite on my ipod, and I listen to the same 30 tunes day in, day out. I need a new playlist. Something with good tunes.

Help...

True on the loaded questions front. Fuck em. Make the fuckers squirm. Fucking rip their hearts out and feed them their spleens on a stick.

Appetite for Destruction - cool.

See also If I should fall from grace with god - The Pogues. Shane MacGowan pretending to be Irish, a trad Irish band playing acoustic instruments like Metallica...tis great music to get pissed to.

This is your longest post ever. I'm proud.

You could buy my fucking single - both of you!! and then threaten other people with violence so that they do as well...

other than that - I'm listening to blood sugar sex magic by the chilli peppers. Chris Whitely living with the law and the firs trage agains tthe machine - you can't get better than that

One word: Graceland.

Oh, and I bought your single. Different, but good. Not my usual style (see previous comment), but may grow on me.

The 80s kinda sucked..

try stuff like .. Interpol, Mínus and Sigur Rós.

Might enlargen your world-view.

razorlight, snow patrol, green day, robbie williams, so much to listen to so little time. And yes my taste in music is bad :)

CB Thank you for contributing to my holiday fund, that was incredibly kind of you and more than my ungrateful relations have done!!! Know what you mean about it - def not mine (or F's) usual style or taste in music but it has something (ME) about it that makes it a bit different...it does grow on you, you either end up loving it or wanting to kill people if you hear it again.

Anonymous - there is no such thing as bad taste in music if you like it you like it (although I don't like those bands - but then, as someone whos fav band is Jethro Tull who am I to judge)?

Jboy - forgot to mention AC/DC last night. Try powerage, dirty deeds done dirt cheap and highway to hell.

KH - I don't think the 80s sucked - there were some good bands out there...Never heard of the bands you mentioned - will check them out...

Tried Sigur Ros et al. Didn't enlarge my world view, just my CD Collection. Robbie Williams, Snow Patrol and Razorlight weren't even born in the 80's and thus don't count, shouldn't count and in the future, won't count.

No. I won't buy your single. I refuse to buy anything with Scott Duran Duran on it and the 16p royalty will make no odds to you or F either way.

I'm on board with the 'If I should Fall from the Grace of God' bandwagon. Mind, I liked 'Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash' too (album title, not lifestyle description, ta so much).

Look for Clutch, can't remember the name of their damned album, but one of the songs they do is 'Spacegrass' My metalhead brothers are mad for them.

yeah, i've got some ac/dc. i don't need to buy your single, you copied it to CD for me. besides, i've got broadband, I don't need to *buy* anything anymore, as the DVDs which I have burnt for you prove.

although if i have some money left at the end of the month i might buy it.

I quite agree with you re Scott Duran Duran but it was also written by F "I am a genius but don't call me a guitar god just worship me" a

so thats 32p in royalties I lost today - the cat is going to starve...

ZB said...

It needs to. Fat lazy little fucker. And the cat...

he he he.

Kidding. F is a god but you're only the fastest gun in town for so long. Then, one day, you're playing A minor scales and you a voice behind you saying 'turn around, real slow...'
